N506ORCHID
The whole natural world is represented in this artistic masterpiece by Paula Crevoshay. In it we can see matter and energy and how mineral, floral and animal are interrelated. The ingenious versatility that Crevoshay is known for is also integral to this amazing jewel. Not only can the Orchid be removed and worn as a broach, the piece can be worn with or without the spider which can also be worn by itself as a pin or pendant. This orchid is inspired by the Catteya variety, "Southern Cross". The orchid is one of the designer's favorite flowers. Orchids are the largest plant family; there are over 28,000 species and over 110,000 hybrids. It has been estimated that fully 10% of all known flowers are orchids. Orchids represent the most wonderful paradoxes about life. Even though they are native to every continent and every state in the US they are extremely rare and exotic. Even though they are delicate, single plants can live for hundreds of years. Kunzite 15.52ct. "H"; Tsavorite=14.63ct."N"; Rubellite= 2.15 ct "H"; Ruby=4.69ct. "H"; Purple Sapphire=18.39ct.
